Doctors Orders!

Well....baby man had his 4 month check up this morning!! He is growing so fast, I cannot believe it. Poor little guy had to have 2 shots, but he was a trooper and a soothing bottle did the trick to calm him down (food always does it....no doubt, Aaron sure can eat....thank the good Lord mommy can still keep up).

Thankfully Aaron has graduated out of the 5th percentile in height to the 25th (24 inches)....we were worried there for a second, neither John nor myself were blessed vertically, so we are hoping he got some recessive genes. There is still hope :) And he is 50th for both weight and head....go figure, he got the pumpkin head, thanks a lot uncle watermelon!

The Dr. says he is doing great, so we couldn't be more thrilled. She also said his scar looks fantastic. For those of you that don't know, Aaron had to have surgery on his stomach back in February. He had something called pyloric stenosis, which caused him to projectile vomit every ounce of food he was eating. Needless to say, my house was a mess for a good week there until he went in for surgery. He has done excellent ever since and, with the exception of the usual spit up, does not leave giant puddles of milk on my floors anymore; or all over me for that matter.

We plan on starting Aaron on rice cereal this weekend since the Dr. gave us the go ahead....that should be interesting / messy, but we are both excited to start the next chapter in baby man's food world. Pictures will be sure to follow!!

All in all, the visit was a success, and we are so blessed to have a happy, healthy baby man.

Here are 2 pictures John took on Aaron's 4mo. birthday.

4 Months today!

Well, I figured it was about time to start one of these things. I so enjoy reading those my friends have created, and since I am so terrible at the phone, I figure this is a good way to keep in touch. Plus, Ashley says I need to do this so she doesn't have to relay new happenings in my life....lol. Lets just hope that with an infant, a new house, and a wedding to plan I can stay on top of this.

As most of you know, Aaron Walker Devens was born back in January. 4 months ago today to be exact! I can't believe how fast time flies, it seems like we were just bringing him home from the hospital, and this coming Monday he starts day care (tear). Life quickly went from midnight feedings and 2am pumping sessions to a "baby man," as we like to call him, sleeping through the night and moving to his own big boy room. It amazes me how for 40 weeks you want this child to come, wishing time away as if it wern't the most precious of things; and now, all I want is for time to stand still. I want my baby boy to stop growing so fast, I want those 12 weeks I had at home with him back, I want my baby....to stay a baby forever.

I say this, and in the same breath, I have to admit that I love time moving. I love watching him encounter new things, the amazement in his eyes when he discovers he can grab a toy or that he has a voice (squeeling is his new found favorite hobby). I look forward to him sitting up on his own, and starting real food (rice cereal this weekend, people....should be interesting!!) He has been rolling over from his tummy to his back for months....but the day he started going from back to front was awesome. The saying that you "learn something new every day" stands so true in the eyes of a baby. I am truely blessed to be watching this tiny being John and I created learn, and grow, and expierence the world one sweet smile at a time. There is no doubt in my mind that he is the best baby in the universe (sorry to you other moms....I am bias....he is friggin sweet), and I see more and more every day that the baby man most certainly can.

Here are a few pictures from the last 4 months! I am so proud to call Aaron my own....
